Bri's Big Adventure

I have just recently registered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's TEAM IN TRAINING to compete in the King's Trail Triathlon on June 13, 2004 in Maui, Hawaii! Yes, that's a long 0.9 mile swim, 25 mile bike ride, and 6.2 mile run. O.k., you can get up off the floor - I know this may be hard to believe. What have I gotten myself into, right? I've been asking myself that same question since I made the decision.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. TEAM IN TRAINING is the world’s largest physical endurance and fundraising program. With the help of mentors and professional athletic coaches, they take people like me – with a lot of desire but no experience – and transform us into athletes… TRI-athletes! Beginning in February, I will be training hard and raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. TNT is first and foremost a fundraising program though. The primary goal is to raise funds for blood cancer research, public education and patient aid programs that provide financial and emotional support to those affected by blood cancer. In light of this objective, there is a commitment to raising a fundraising minimum for each participant. I am reaching out to everyone to ask for support. More than 75% of my personal goal of $5,800 will go back to the Society for research, patient services, advocacy, and education.

NO DONATION IS TOO GREAT OR SMALL!

Every little bit helps! If you are unable to contribute financially at this time, I ask that you keep me & all involved in The Society in your prayers. That, too, will make a huge difference.

Thanks in advance for your support! I cannot wait to keep you all updated on my progress and the advances being made in The Society. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will look forward to hearing from you soon!

Love you all,
Brianne Clancy

P.S. - Feel free to pass this on to anyone who you think would be interested, and make sure to SIGN THE GUESTBOOK!!!
